Pan-Asia Railway Network

This map is combination of two maps. First map (located on the center) shows the Pan-Asia Railway Network. The second map (located on the left side) shows specifically about the Vientiane – Boten Railway. Since Laos is the only landlocked country in Southeast Asia, Laos have long cargo transit times and high transportation costs when it comes to trade. Because of this matter, Laos is one of the country that strongly supports the one belt and one road initiative. Not only the Vientiane – Boten Railway will solve lower the cost of transportation and long cargo transit time for Laos, it will also become a connection link of a railway system that starts from Kunming to Singapore. This section of the railway is expected to finish by late 2021.
