Sino-Cuban relations have deepened rapidly since the beginning of the twenty-first century and further consolidate by the OBOR initiative. It is truly a win-win for both country as China gradually increases its presence in the Caribbean region while Cuba is able to find new opportunities when its relationship with Washington is deteriorating. Air China now has direct flight to Cuba to encourage more tourism to Cuba. Chinese company like Huawei has helped Cuba built many WIFI hotspots with censorships throughout the country. China and Cuba are also planning on an ambitious plan of creating a man-made canal through Nicaragua as a marine time highway through Pacific Ocean to further increase the trading capacity in the Caribbean region. Cuba also uses China as a blue print to push its market-oriented economic reform.
