The Chinese One Belt One Road (OBOR) program has immense potential to Iran and beyond. Iran stands strategically located in accessing Asia, Europe, and Africa. It has one of the remarkable energy reserves for the China market and stands to offer a broader market to the Chinese military products. The OBOR projects including the Yiwu-Tehran train, Tehran-Isfahan high-speed railway project, Tehran-Mashhad rail link, and the currently proposed investment projects can highly elevate china’s girth in the bid for power and economic dominance. In the long run, China-Iran relations are expected to be stable and deepen post-OBOR to limit U.S power over unilateral sanctions, strengthen Iran’s military power, and further support China and Iran’s emergence as regional superpowers.
